Session Information

Title: Materials for Increasing Efficiency of Future Ground Transportation

Description:

The automotive industry is moving away from a straight materials substitution approach to lightweighting to meet CO2 emission regulations. Vehicle systems are being transformed, with hybrid electric and full electric vehicles an increasing part of the mix. Mobility, autonomy and other market drivers create new opportunities for multi-material solutions that balance cost, performance and manufacturability. Composites will have advantages where they can address unique issues or play multifunctional roles. This panel session will explore trends, needs and example applications.

Moderator: Dale Brosius, Chief Commercialization Officer, Institute for Advanced Composite Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI)
